THE BRIEF


Create a typographic / illustrative cover and interior spot illustrations. Lush, evocative of cocktail culture, attention to detail. Tonal illustration in Sipsmith's iconic green.


I was approached by Octopus, a UK-based publisher, to illustrate the cover and interior spot illustrations for a new book by Sipsmith. The book, titled SIP: 100 Gin Cocktails with Only 3 Ingredients is filled with recipes for simple, gorgeous cocktails that can be made at home.

THE ARTWORK

After establishing a linework and shading style, all elements were arranged into place, keeping in mind separate layers for specialty printing techniques.

Main ingredients of gin:

Juniper berries and leaves

Strips of dried orange peel

Strips of dried lemon peel

Licorice root

Angelica root

Orris

Coriander
